Bonar Bardip Mural Project

As part of the Bonar Bardip project – the Story of the Wardandi Seasons, students at Carey Park Primary School have been participating in storytelling and creative writing workshops with Tahlia Bennell, a Balardong & Wardandi woman and artist and Jo Porter, a writer and poet from Edith Cowan University.
Tahlia shared stories of growing up on country and how the seasons have traditionally and continue to influence the way Wardandi people live. She reminded students to walk softly on country listening and observing, and that when we care for country, country will care for us.
Thank you to WA Culture and the Arts for funding the Bonar Bardip project and the Bunbury Regional Art Gallery for their ongoing support.
